Hi, my name’s Rel Vild, and I’m the founder of sHEROes, a new brand of girls underwear. When my daughters started school, I looked for school colour, full coverage underwear for my daughters to wear under their school dress. I couldn’t find anything! All i could find were undies in packs where you might get one or two the colour of the school. Alternatively underwear covered in princesses, or bright patterns. Mostly the look was very undie-ish. Not something you want to hang upside down and flash.
Sure there was the boy shortie option, but they have all a vertical centre seam. The seam makes the shorties irritating and uncomfortable, meaning the girls wear regular underwear underneath. And I found the and the legs slide up, leaving butt cheeks a little exposed. Not for my young daughters!
I couldn’t find anything suitable, so I decided to make our own. (Having spent two decades as a swimwear designer I knew I could do it, too!)
So, here I am, launching a range of snug fit and super hero coverage girl-power pants! sHEROes enable our daughters to be free of limitations, more confident, and more physically active.
sHEROes are a contemporary version of a scungie, scungee, bummers, or bumhuggers, depending on the relevant slang to your area. Made from a sustainable, breathable bamboo fibre, in a BSCI certified factory. These briefs don’t need underpants to be worn underneath, they are one and all.
There’s no other pants like sHEROes. Full coverage girls underwear that stay in place when you are cartwheeling or sitting on the floor cross legged. The fabric is made from sustainable bamboo fibre using a closed loop system, which keeps all the chemical residue from our planet’s water supply. They feel lovely, breath well and last for ages.
Why are sHEROes necessary?
When girls are young, they’re not afraid to cartwheel, or hang upside down on the monkey bars. They’re not shy about their bodies, or worried about looking silly. They own their bodies and are proud of what they can do, how fast they can run and high they can climb. We really need to encourage them to keep believing and acting in this way, and not allow nasty body image issues to infiltrate and damage their self esteem. Our girls need to stay confident and free, to reach their full potential.
sHEROes can help!
